Since the 1980’s, she has stood on the front lines of forgiveness from the personal to the political. A renowned psychologist and consultant, Dr. Borris rebuilds countries by ending the cycles of abuse and revenge from centuries past. She leads the charge by training high profile individuals and groups including diplomats, peacekeepers, and humanitarian organizations.
Dr. Borris has developed and implemented peace-building programs in more than fifteen of the most unstable and war-torn countries. She has taught at the most prestigious universities in the world, including Thunderbird School of Global Management, where she works today, delivered multiple addresses to the United Nations including an address to the United Nations General Assembly, written two highly acclaimed books on the topic of forgiveness, and still finds time to work as a clinical psychologist in private practice.
Dr. Borris is currently President of Forgiveness International and has served as Director of Training and Program Development at the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy. Dr. Borris was recently given the “Distinguished Contribution to the Practice of Psychology” award for work done in the field of psychology by the Arizona Psychological Association, and has been elected to various professional committees and made over 30 radio and television appearances. A native New Yorker, she received both her Master’s degree (1972) and her doctorate in psychology (1985) from Columbia University.
