MARYLAND

Hello Maryland and those in the DMV! What an amazing conference! I’m fired up and would love to connect with locals to spread some love and help lift this heavy cloud from our area. I was thinking of starting by supporting some of the local mosques during Friday prayers. Please let me know if you’d like to join.

Hi Tess, Fired up, too. What does your Friday support look like? I’m in Chevy Chase.

Would love to continue the momentum from the gathering with you. And supporting local mosques in any way they find helpful is on my action list too.

Such an amazing conference. Great to be able to connect with others here. I like that you’re starting with supporting mosques, Tess. I don’t think that is my call to service, but I love supporting the sanctity of all religions and the values of an open society, welcoming to all. Please let us know what comes of your efforts!

Hi Louise, I’m still absorbing our amazing weekend and as you said, I want to keep the momentum. My original idea had been very simple — just show up with a sign or flowers and show support and love. However, now we have decided to go to NC this weekend to march in the anniversary Moral Monday march. So… now, my idea is to make valentines cards — I’m going to see if my daughters preschool will have the kids make a bunch of cards and then go hand them out on valentines day. I haven’t contacted any of the local mosques yet. But that is what I’m thinking. I’m also interested in deeper, longer support but right now I’m just trying to go wide! I’d love your thoughts and ideas. Where are you located?

I am in VA and would like to create a diverse group to meet, discuss, and share actions. It’s so easy to get busy with what you do and miss what others are doing. I have access to a space in Springfield. Let me know if you’re interested.

    Hi Tess-
I’ll be away this weekend as well—meditation retreat. Hopefully will return refreshed and ready to move along. What do you think about calling some local mosques to see what they think might feel supportive?

I’m near Grosvenor Metro in N. Bethesda.

Have a good journey to NC.

I suggest you join one of the Women’s March on Washington “huddles” that are happening this week. That way you can plug in with other women who were not at Sister Giant but share your interests. Just put in your zip code. https://www.womensmarch.com/100/action2
